All our wooden diploma frames are manufactured from Basswood, a species of North American Hardwood grown in the Lakes District of the northern Mid-West United States. Hence, the forestry products companies supplying the wood are subject to stringent environmental and reforestation requirements. Further, the wood is already acclimatized to North American weather conditions.
In order to achieve a very high quality furniture finish on the top, sides and back of each wood frame, this wood is exported to our partner factories in Thailand, where the moulding is produced, the frames are manufactured to exacting standards and then shipped to Frames4Diplomas.com’s facilities in Canada. Our partner factories adhere to International Labour Standards, and DO NOT use Child or Forced labor.
Stains used during the production process in the coloration of our frame mouldings are lead free.
All of our wood frames use a superior frame construction using "spline" ("finger") joints instead of stables at each corner.
To permit quick and easy framing, we use special turn clips on the fully finished frame backing.
Each hand-crafted frame comes complete with quality, pre-washed, clear glass.
Conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free matting is used inside each frame. We bevel-cut the matboard to individual diploma or award specification.
After imprinting the bevel-cut mats with your University/College/School/Professional Association crest, final assembly of the pre-made frame is undertaken.
We include acid-free, pH neutral archival quality framing tape and simple step-by-step framing instructions with each frame to permit you to quickly, easily and safely insert your document, while ensuring ease of removal should the need arise in the future.
